High Efficiency Furnaces
This two hour session will cover basic high and mid efficiency gas furnace operation in an easy to understand format. Additionally, we will discuss modalities and evidences of failures and/or improper installations and review several actual case studies. Our emphasis will be the basics of mid (plus 80 or induced) and high (condensing) furnace function, inspected components and defect recognition. Being able to identify a high efficiency furnace and to explain the function of this type of furnace is important for a successful inspection business. We will review how the furnace works so you can explain to your client the value of owning this type of furnace.
2015 IRC Structural Changes Update
This two hour session with Mike Casey will cover building section changes and revisions to the 2015 IRC exclusively. We will discuss residential changes and some commercial. Photographic inspections of some components and systems will be presented to demonstrate many changes and reinforce your understanding of the changes.
Michael Casey, ACI, MCI, is principal with Michael Casey & Associates, a consulting firm based in San Diego. He is past president of the California Real Estate Inspection Association (1994/1995) and the American Society of Home Inspectors (2002). Mike started inspecting in 1987, then soon after branched out into education and now operates a claims consulting practice as well. He has inspected more than 10,000 buildings in his 30+ year career. Mike is multi-code certified by the ICC and IAMPO. He is licensed in several states as a general, plumbing and mechanical contractor, and is a Virginia licensed home inspector.
