About NOVA ASHI - Northern Virginia Building Inspectors
The American Society of Home Inspectors is the leading professional association of home inspectors in the United States and Canada. The Northern Virginia Chapter was established in 1993 to provide local home inspectors with a more convenient opportunity to be active in an ASHI Chapter. In addition to special programs at monthly meetings, the chapter sponsors training sessions and seminars throughout the year. This provides home inspection members with an excellent opportunity to learn about structural and mechanical systems as well as to remain current on issues affecting the local housing market.
All chapter members are also members in good standing of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) at the national level. ASHI, founded in 1976, is North America’s oldest and most respected professional organization of home inspectors. ASHI’s goals have always been to build customer awareness of the importance of a quality home inspection and to enhance the professionalism of home inspectors.
Objectives:
- Promote excellence within the home inspection profession and improve inspection service to consumers through ASHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
- Build public awareness of and confidence in professional home inspectors
- Provide Members and others with a forum in which to enhance their professionalism through education, an informed exchange of ideas, and other related benefits
- Interact with construction industry experts, the legal community, and government agencies to maintain a leading role in the home and building inspection profession
